Discovering Barcelona, one of the most charming cities of the Mediterranean Sea

Barcelona is an ultimate global city, considered one of the most charming cities in the Mediterranean sea. The city is famous for its mix of modern architecture and Gothic style, and its bounty of culture and arts. Yet, it is a place where all ranges of holiday expectations are met combining fun and nightlife, fashion and shopping, wellbeing and traditions.

Everybody likes Barcelona because it is colourful, lively and sunny almost all year round. The city is easy to visit either on foot or by bike, but also by metro (8 lines of metro cover the city with up to 148 stations).

To fully enjoy Barcelona and its urban charm you can start strolling in the heart of the Ciutat Vella, the old town, where you can visit the lovely Medieval Gothic Barrio, La Rambla, the Picasso Museum and the Cathedral. La Rambla is a huge avenue that goes from the Old Port to Plaça de Catalunya, where you will find street artists and stalls of all sorts.

Not far from this area, you will find La Boqueria, one of the oldest Spanish markets, hosting an infinite number of stalls where you can immerse yourself in a mix of scents and colors, cool off drinking excellent fruit smoothies or enjoy sandwiches with typical Spanish cured meats.

Bodegas and bar de tapas flourish in the narrow streets behind the market: patatas bravas, pantumaca, Manchego cheese, fried calamari, spicy tuna salad are just some of the traditional Catalan tapas to enjoy accompanied by good local wine and excellent beer.

Visiting the architectural jewels of Gaudì is definitely a must. First, the Sagrada Familia, its colossal size and the facade featuring the history of Jesus will leave you speechless. Not less stunning are other masterpieces of the eclectic artist such as Casa Milà (called Pedrera), Casa Batlló and Park Güell, where you can visit the old house of the artist.

Wherever you will decide to spend your nights the movida will follow you: Barcelona bustles with nightclubs famous all around Europe, international concerts, starred restaurants, traditional festival, and events.

Barcelona boasts many beautiful beaches with activities for everybody, whether you are looking for simple relaxation or you prefer a more active holiday.
The most famous beach is close to the bustling city centre and it is called Barceloneta owing its name to the neighborhood where it’s located, just facing the coastline. La Barceloneta is pretty crowded but this feature is offset by a wide offer of events, activities, and venues where to eat especially bar kiosks by the sea and typical chiringuitos. Among the water sports you can practice in this lively beach, the most popular are windsurf and kitesurf.

Other beaches worth a mention are the sandy beaches of Nova Icaria and Ocata.
Nova Icaria is impressively long with its 400 km of shoreline. This littoral is ideal for families and those looking for a relaxing holiday without forgetting great food and sports, consistent features in every Catalan beach you will visit. Ocata is a white-golden sandy beach about 30 min train ride from Barcelona, especially impressive for its unique untamed nature. The beach is beautiful, but in spite of that it allures less tourists having fewer services and fun activities when compared to other beaches.

A wide variety of resorts, spas and thermal baths in Arabic style make the Catalan city ideal also for a wellness holiday.

Unmissable experience is likewise a catamaran tour, quintessential if you want to enjoy the stunning view of the iconic Barcelona skyline during the sunset. Nausdream offers two sunset catamaran tours: one with barbeque and music, the other one with live music.
